100% regeneratively, Vt grown, oh so beautifull!
We are a mission oriented business owned and run by Woman and BIPOC. Our aim is to continue to empower these voices while producing the highest quality regeneratively grown Saffron in the Northeast.
Calabash Gardens was started in the late summer of 2018 with 2,000 Crocus Sativus bulbs. The corms are directly planted in the ground and subject to the whim of Nature. Our bulbs have successfully flowered each October facilitating the planting of 1/2 of an acre in 2020 followed by 9 acres within the 10 years.
We practice Holistic planned grazing and a variety of cover crop for maximum biodiversity in the rotating acreage. The farm will not only produce the highest quality Saffron but will build soil and sequester carbon maximizing the landscape.the planting of 1/2 of an acre in 2020 followed by 9 acres within the 10 years.
Calabash Gardens is intrinsically linked to social justice. We are committed to leveling the playing field, giving focus and voice to the underserve BIPOC community in our region and beyond by providing opportunities for investments on several different levels.
